On April 19th, 2023, CEENRG Fellow Dr Clara Galeazzi participated as a panelist in the event “Green Technologies in Latin America,” held both at Robinson College, University of Cambridge, and online.
The event was hosted by CAF Development Bank and StateUp, and sponsored by Rumbo Ventures, a VC focused on Latin America. Dr. Galeazzi was joined by the following panelists in climate change, green technologies, VC, and public policy: Carlos Gentile, former Secretary of State for Climate Change and Sustainable Development, 2015 - 2019, Republic of Argentina; Ana Luz Diaz, Associate, Rumbo Ventures; and Mauricio Sestopal, Co-Founder, MuniDigital. The event was chaired by Dr. Tanya Filer, Founder of StateUp.
The discussion centered around how best to support innovation and uptake of GreenTech in LAC, and beyond. The event also marked the launch of a landmark new report from StateUp and CAF on Green GovTech in Latin America, which reveals the urgent need and great potential for Latin America to be both a source and pioneering adopter of powerful green technologies needed to build climate resilience and decarbonise the planet.
