UN BBNJ Prep Comm Side Event: Legal Options for area-based management and environmental impact assessment in the context of changing threats to BBNJ

As part of their collaborative research project on developing A Conservation Agenda for Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction ('BBNJ'), C-EENRG and UNEP-WCMC are co-organising a side event at the second UN Preparatory Committee set up to establish an international law instrument on the conservation and sustainable use of BBNJ in New York this September. During the workshop, a range of legal options for area-based management and environmental impact assessment in the context of changing threats to BBNJ will be presented and analysed. The event, made possible through funding from the Cambridge Conservation Initiative, will be hosted at the UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre on 8 September 2016.
