Biodiversity, Sustainable Development and the Law International Symposium

9am-6pm Saturday 21st - Sunday 22nd Feb 2015

St John’s Divinity Schools, Cambridge

Biodiversity degradation and loss has reached alarming levels. While international treaties, including the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species), the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) and the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, can make an important difference, they also face many practical legal and governance challenges. In their talks, global environmental leaders and practitioners will share valuable insight on the past successes, current hurdles and potential future solutions regarding these common problems.
